Come on out to the Fourth and Final Florida Freewheeler Adopt-a-Road Ride and Picnic for 2015!!!!
Adopt-a-Road Ride and Picnic ... Saturday, October 10th!
Ride starts promptly at 8:00 AM from Killarney Station on the West Orange Trail. Look for the group of cyclists wearing Florida Freewheelers Jerseys in the parking lot. We should be a large group in the lower parking lot near the pavilion. With the lower temperatures and dropping humidity leading to perfect cycling weather, the main parking lot may fill up quickly. If that is the case when you arrive, there is an overflow parking lot to the East of the park off of old County Route 50. Park there, get yourself ready, and cycle the 500 feet on the trail back to the park.
Category: A B C D S T
Distance: 25 - 35 - 50 miles
Directions: West Orange Trail - Florida Turnpike to SR-50 (Exit 272); West on SR-50 to Oakland Blvd (2nd light); right on Oakland Blvd then immediate left on SR-438; 0.5 mile on left.
There will be both a road ride (Up-and-Down Lake County Map) and a trail ride option. For the trail option, we may either go to the West to the end of the trail near Groveland or head East to Horsemen's Park.
After the ride, we will have wraps and ring leader subs from Publix along with vegetable & fruit trays to enjoy. Chips and cookies too. Plenty of fruit juices, sodas, and bottled water. All provided by your Florida Freewheelers Club.
See everyone Saturday morning!
