The Florida Freewheelers website has many pages that are available to the general public as well as special pages that are accessible to members only
Public Areas are available to everyone who visits the site without logging in. These include :
Rides this Week – all currently scheduled club rides for the next 7 days.
Membership Information – an introduction to the activities and events that the Freewheelers host and support.
Information – an overview of the club, the rides it sponsors and rides presented by other groups that the club supports. This section also outlines the club's charitable efforts as well as presents information on Florida’s bicycle laws, bicycle advocacy groups, shops and services.
Photos – pictures of some of the past club events and rides.
Apparel – links to the on-line stores to purchase both the traditional and modern Florida Freewheelers cycling apparel.
Forum – a discussion board for topics about the bicycling community, club rides, items for sale by club members as well as information about other rides and services in the area. The forum is available to the public to read, but you must be a member to post new topics or responses.
Help – the Contact Us page generates an email question to the club’s Executive Director and the FAQs page attempts to answer questions about club membership, rides and the website.
Member-Only Areas and Features are available only to club members who are logged into the website. These include :
Ride Maps – provides access to the club’s map library. Maps are organized by the county of the start location of a ride. When you select a map, you can save or print a copy on your computer with the toolbar. Some maps have GPS files available as well. All maps have a created date in the bottom corner. Older maps may have some inaccuracies since road names, signs and conditions may have changed since the map was last edited.
Rides by Date – accesses the current club ride database for the timeframe requested. You can choose timeframes from 1 week up to 2 months. The rides for the following month are generally posted during the last week of the month so the schedule may have 4 or 5 weeks of information or it may have only one. If you are considering leading a Florida Freewheelers ride, you can get a copy of the Ride Leader Guidelines from this page.
Membership Renewal – allows you to renew your membership after updating your profile with any needed changes.
Membership List – provides an up-to-date club roster. Each member controls (via their profile) whether they want to appear on the roster and whether or not their email address and/or phone number is displayed.
Club News – has a Newsletters article at the beginning containing links to club newsletters for the past several years.
Board Members – provides current contact information for each of the club officers and directors.
Change Profile – allows you to update your personal information such as your email address, phone number or emergency contact. The parameters that control what is displayed for you in the Membership List can be altered here. In addition you can change your Ride Notifications parameters on this page.
Ride Notifications – can be changed at the bottom of the Change Profile page. They are used to send you an email or text alert when ride starts have been moved, the start time has been changed or the ride has been cancelled. If you do not specify an email address in the Ride Notifications section, your default email address will be used.
Change Password – you can update your password to a new 4 to 9 character string using this page.
Forum – members may post or comment on Forum posts. You may Subscribe to any or all of the Forums (General Discussion, Rides, Other Rides and Services or For Sale) to receive an email notification when a new topic or comment is posted.
